Liters don't mean much to Americans but this bad boy can fit so much hydration in it (more than 5 gallons) -- you'll be bissing for days.
With any military surplus container, we recommend sanitizing before use. Soap and hot water first then mixing a highly diluted amount of bleach in with some water. Let it sit for a few minutes while agitating the container a bit. Afterwards rinse thoroughly to remove all residual bleach.
That said, it is going to taste like drinking from a tire. Suck it up butter cup. Or fill it and carry it for a workout.
